Maybe

I know it had been a long time since I have updated this blog, or added a inspirational message. I guess since things have been going positively in my life, I have focused less on this blog and have filled my life with other unimportant things, but I have realized that I still need to make time for not only reading the Word, but making time write about my journey. The more I blog about my journey, the more progress I can see with my relationship with God, plus it allows me to focus on setting time aside each day solely for Him.

When we have so many things going on in our lives, we tend to cut out time for fellowship and prayer, but make time for things that do really matter. We loose focus on God and put focus on things of lesser value. But this blog allows me to focus on the Lord and reflect on his blessings. Please take time to bask in the glory of the Lord….He takes time everyday to bless us despite our actions towards Him.

Below is a message I thought was interesting as well as made me think about issues that have taken place in my life…..I have always heard that everything happens for a reason, and maybe that is true…

MAYBE

Maybe God wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us.

Maybe it is true that we don’t know what we have got until we lose it, but it is also true that we don’t know what we have been missing until it arrives.

The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.

Your Appointed Time

Below is a message that I receive from the Joel Osteen Ministry. This really spoke to me because right now even though my life is going in a great direction, I still feel like I am desiring things that God had not allowed me to receive yet. Even though God has not allowed me to receive all of the desires of my heart, I have to realize that He has an appointed time for everything! We are on the Lord’s time!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarry, wait for it” (Habakkuk 2:3 KJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams, and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you’ve tried and failed, doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. Don’t give up on those dreams! Don’t be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it’s been, no matter how impossible things looks, if you’ll stay in faith, your appointed time is coming. Remember, every dream that’s in your heart, every promise that has taken root, God put it in there. And not only that, but He has every intention of bringing it to pass. Hold on to that vision today by declaring, “My time is coming. God is working behind the scenes on my behalf. I will fulfill my destiny!” As you continue to hold on to that vision and speak life over your dreams, you’ll see them begin to take shape. You’ll see your faith grow, you’ll see your hope strengthen, and you’ll see yourself step into the destiny God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY “Father in heaven, I receive Your truth today. I receive Your promises today. I ask that You ignite my heart with Your holy fire so that I can pursue Your perfect plan for my life. Make my thoughts and words agreeable to Your will. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

GAD or God?

I will admit I tend to worry A LOT about things. My family, my job, school, what I do not have, etc, but I have come to realize that instead of worrying, that I should put all my trust in God. So if you worry a lot, take a minute to see if you have GAD or if you need to turn your trust over to God.

GAD Or God?

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. —1 Peter 5:7

Are you a chronic worrier? Do you worry about bills, the future, health, debt, marriage issues? Has worry so consumed you that you have become “a fret machine”? If this describes you, perhaps you have generalized anxiety disorder, or GAD—a condition marked by a perpetual state of worry about most aspects of life. According to David Barlow, professor of psychology at Boston University, “the key psychological feature of GAD is a state of chronic, uncontrollable worry.” A little anxiety is normal, but constant worry is not.

Overwhelmed by suffering and persecution, the first-century Christians were driven out of Jerusalem and scattered throughout Asia (1 Peter 1:1-7). Many of these Jesus-followers were experiencing feelings of distress because of possible danger or misfortune. Peter encouraged these believers not to be filled with anxiety but to cast all their worries upon God (5:7). He wanted them to realize that it made very little sense for them to carry their worries when they could cast them on God who cared deeply about what happened to them.

Are you a chronic worrier? Let God be responsible for your anxieties. Stop worrying and start trusting Him completely. —Marvin Williams

When every worry, every care
To God in faith is brought,
We have no place whereon to found
One single anxious thought. —Anon.

Worry is a burden God never intended us to bear.

Friends…How many of us have them?…lol

For anyone that knows me, I am a VERY private person. I have a very small social circle and only can truly call about a handful of people “friends”. I find it hard to trust people and realize that they only person I can truly trust is the Lord, but I have had to realize that God has put people on this earth that will be there for me. I had to realize that there are people I can call “friends” that will be there for me, but I also am aware that I must chose my friends wisely.

With the current popularity of social networking sites like facebook, myspace, linkedin, etc, I thought that this email I received from the Daily Word is quite fitting for our generation.

Best Friends

The righteous should choose his friends carefully. —Proverbs 12:26

When I signed up for a popular Internet social network, I was shocked to be greeted with the words, “You have no friends.” Although I knew it was untrue, I still felt sad for a moment. The idea that anyone, even an impersonal Web site, would call me friendless was upsetting. Friends are essential for our emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Friends listen to our heartaches without blaming us for having problems. They defend us when we’re under attack. They are happy when we succeed and sad when we fail. They give us wise counsel to keep us from making foolish choices. They even risk making us angry for the sake of making us right. My friends have done all of this and more for me.

Perhaps the best-known friendship in the Bible is that of Jonathan and David. Jonathan was heir to the throne of his father Saul. But he knew that the Lord had chosen David for that role, so he risked his own life to save his friend (1 Sam. 20).

As the Bible shows us, we need to choose friends carefully (Prov. 12:26). The very best friends are those who are friends with God and who strengthen our relationship with Him (1 Sam. 23:16). —Julie Ackerman

I do not ask for many friends,
But give me, Lord, the few
Whose loyalty and faithfulness
Are first of all to You. —Meadows

True friends are like diamonds—precious and rare.

Then Why Don’t We Pray?

Do you take the time to go to God with prayer when you are going though something? Do you look at prayer as a solution to your problems? Prayer is the answer for so many things, so why don’t we pray?

THEN WHY DON’T WE PRAY?

The highest privilege ever afforded to man is the power of prayer.

…then why don’t we pray?

The right to talk to the highest potentate in all the universe…

…then why don’t we pray?

The most powerful force accessible to man is the potential of prayer…

…then why don’t we pray?

The greatest longing in the heart of God is to talk to His children…

…then why don’t we pray?

Nothing is impossible to those who pray…

…then why don’t we pray?

No man ever fainted or faltered who gave himself to prayer…

…then why don’t we pray?

Every sin is forgiven, every stain is washed clean, all guilt diminished to the man who prays…

…then why don’t we pray?

Hell moves farther away, satan flees from the man who prays…

…then why don’t we pray?

Anointing will come, mountains will be moved, valleys made smooth, rivers made crossable, the inaccessible made accessible, the impossible made possible, dreams come through to the man who prays…

…then why don’t we pray?

Jesus said that men ought always to pray…

…then why don’t we pray?

Paul encouraged prayer without ceasing…

…then why don’t we pray?

The riches of heaven are open to those who pray in His name…

…then why don’t we pray?

Everyone can pray, the young, the old, the rich, the poor, the strong, the weak, the child, the aged, the sinner, the prisoner, in any nation, in any language, all can pray…

…then why don’t we pray?
